Terms of Use
Updated 15 October 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Storage Cleaner Expert (“the App”), provided by Andrei Yakushau (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the App.
1. Purpose of the App
Storage Cleaner Expert is a macOS utility designed to help you understand how storage space is being used on your Mac and identify files and folders that you may choose to remove.
The App may scan, analyze, categorize, and display information about files and folders stored on your Mac.
The App does not make decisions about which of your personal files should be deleted. You remain responsible for reviewing and selecting the files and folders you choose to remove.
2. File Deletion and User Responsibility
Deleting files can result in permanent loss of data.
Before confirming any deletion, you are responsible for reviewing the selected files and folders and determining whether they are safe and appropriate to remove.
Storage Cleaner Expert may provide information, categories, descriptions, recommendations, warnings, or other guidance intended to help you make this decision. Such information is provided for convenience only and does not guarantee that a file or folder is unnecessary or safe to delete in your particular circumstances.
Some files may be required by macOS, applications, development tools, projects, third-party software, or your own workflows even when they appear unused, temporary, cached, large, or otherwise suitable for cleanup.
You should not delete a file or folder unless you understand what it is or are comfortable with the consequences of its removal.
3. Backups
We strongly recommend maintaining an up-to-date backup of important data before deleting files using the App.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of your files and system.
We cannot restore files that have been deleted from your Mac and are no longer recoverable through macOS, backups, or other recovery mechanisms available to you.
4. Storage Analysis and Recommendations
The App attempts to accurately identify, classify, and describe files and folders on your Mac. However, filesystem structures, applications, development environments, and macOS itself can change over time.
We do not guarantee that:
- every file or folder will be correctly identified or categorized;
- every cleanup suggestion will be appropriate for every user or system;
- removing a suggested item will have no effect on another application or workflow;
- the amount of recoverable storage displayed by the App will exactly match the storage ultimately recovered;
- all removable or unnecessary files will be detected.
You should treat cleanup recommendations as informational assistance rather than an instruction to delete data.
5. Your Files
You retain all rights to the files and other content stored on your Mac.
The App's access to your filesystem does not give us any ownership rights over your files.
As described in our Privacy Policy, filesystem analysis is performed locally on your device and we do not receive your file contents, file names, folder paths, or other filesystem information.
6. Mac App Store and Apple
If you obtain Storage Cleaner Expert through the Mac App Store, your license to use the App is also subject to Apple's applicable App Store terms and Apple'sStandard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Apple is responsible for the operation of the Mac App Store, including transactions, downloads, and App Store account management.
Storage Cleaner Expert is provided by us and is not an Apple product. Apple is not responsible for the App or its functionality except to the extent required under Apple's applicable terms or applicable law.
7. Purchases and Refunds
Purchases made through the Mac App Store are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's payment, billing, subscription, and refund policies.
We do not directly process or control Mac App Store payments.
Nothing in these Terms limits any refund, cancellation, or consumer rights that you may have under applicable law or Apple's applicable policies.
8. Acceptable Use
You may use the App only in accordance with applicable laws and Apple's applicable usage rules.
You may not attempt to interfere with the operation or security of the App, use the App for unlawful purposes, or circumvent technical restrictions intended to protect the App, except where such restrictions are prohibited by applicable law.
9. Intellectual Property
The App, including its software, interface, graphics, design, documentation, trademarks, and other materials provided by us, is owned by or licensed to Andrei Yakushau and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Your use of the App does not transfer ownership of the App or its intellectual property to you.
Any license to use the Mac App Store version of the App is governed by Apple's applicable license terms.
10. Updates and Compatibility
We may update the App from time to time to add, modify, or remove features, fix issues, improve security, or maintain compatibility with macOS.
We do not guarantee that any particular version of the App will remain compatible with future versions of macOS, third-party applications, development tools, filesystems, or hardware.
Changes made by Apple or third-party software developers may affect the App's ability to identify, categorize, access, or remove certain files.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available.”
We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, completely accurate, or suitable for every particular purpose or configuration.
You acknowledge that software capable of modifying or deleting files carries inherent risks and that you are responsible for reviewing and confirming deletion actions.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded under the laws applicable to you.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Andrei Yakushau will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
This includes, without limitation, loss of data, files, projects, application settings, configurations, profits, business information, or interruption of business or other activities resulting from the deletion or modification of files.
You are responsible for files and folders that you select and confirm for deletion.
Where liability cannot legally be excluded, our liability will be limited only to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or any mandatory consumer rights available to you.
13. Privacy
Your use of the App is also subject to our Privacy Policy.
Our Privacy Policy describes how the App handles information and explains that filesystem analysis is performed locally on your Mac.
14. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.
Your right to use the App may terminate if you materially violate these Terms or applicable license conditions.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including provisions concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability, will continue to apply.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when necessary to reflect changes to the App, applicable laws, or our business practices.
The latest version will be made available on this page together with the date of the most recent update.
Changes will not reduce mandatory consumer rights available to you under applicable law.
16. Governing Law and Consumer Rights
These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where the mandatory laws of your country of residence provide otherwise.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction providing mandatory consumer protections, nothing in these Terms deprives you of rights that cannot be waived by contract.
