Data We Collect

We do not collect, transmit, store, sell, or share personal data or usage data.

Storage Cleaner Expert does not require an account and does not use advertising, tracking, or analytics services.

Files and Folders

Storage Cleaner Expert needs access to files and folders on your Mac in order to analyze disk usage and help you identify files that may be removed.

Information about your files and folders, such as file names, paths, sizes, and other filesystem metadata, is processed locally on your Mac.

This information is not transmitted to us or stored on our servers. It is sent to a third party only if you turn on Optional AI Analysis.

Files are deleted only as a result of actions initiated by you.

Local Processing

The application's storage analysis is performed locally on your device.

We do not operate servers that receive information about the files, applications, folders, or other content stored on your Mac.

Optional AI Analysis

AI analysis is optional and off by default. Scanning and cleanup work without it.

To use it, you add your own OpenRouter API key in Settings › AI and explicitly allow external analysis. Only then does the app send information over HTTPS to OpenRouter (openrouter.ai), which routes it to the provider of the AI model you choose. This can include file and folder names, paths, sizes, dates, file types, folder contents, short plain-text excerpts of files you approve one at a time, and the questions you ask. If you also turn on web search for folder chat, the model can search the web through OpenRouter while answering.

This information goes from your Mac directly to OpenRouter and the model provider. It does not pass through or get stored by us. OpenRouter and the provider process it under their own privacy policies and your account settings, which may include retaining it or processing it outside your country. Review OpenRouter's Privacy Policy before turning AI on.

Your API key is stored in your Mac's Keychain and used only to authenticate requests to OpenRouter. Opening Settings › AI also downloads OpenRouter's public model list, which sends no information about your files.

You can turn off external analysis or remove your key in Settings › AI at any time. This stops new requests but can't recall information already sent.

Analytics and Tracking

Storage Cleaner Expert does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

We do not track how you use the application.

This website does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts.

Apple and the Mac App Store

Storage Cleaner Expert is distributed through Apple's Mac App Store.

Apple may independently collect and process information related to your use of the App Store, including downloads, purchases, device information, diagnostics, or other information in accordance with Apple's own privacy policies and your Apple privacy settings.

This information is collected and processed by Apple, not by Storage Cleaner Expert or its developer.

Apple may provide developers with aggregated or privacy-preserving information about downloads, purchases, application performance, and usage. We do not use this information to identify individual users.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, we have no personal data associated with your use of Storage Cleaner Expert to retain or delete.

Information processed locally by the application remains under your control on your Mac.

Information you send through Optional AI Analysis is retained according to the policies of OpenRouter and the model provider. Manage or delete it with them.

Third Parties

We do not share personal data or information about your files with third parties. If you turn on Optional AI Analysis, the app sends the information described in that section to OpenRouter and the AI model provider you choose, at your direction.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if the application's functionality or data practices change.

Any updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
